Dan Shachtman initially assumed responsibility for the growth and management of the firm’s industrial real estate portfolio. In a series of well-timed sales and purchases, he transitioned the portfolio from older product in the O’Hare marketplace to the national presence of institutional-quality assets, which are the focus of the firm to this day. Dan also built the Barnett Capital Sale-Leaseback business, cementing Barnett Capital’s reputation for helping entrepreneurs seize opportunities with quick and certain closings.
Dan came to Barnett Capital from the high-tech industry, where he was a top sales manager for an internet company until 2003. Prior to his work at the Internet company, Dan was a financial consultant at Merrill Lynch, where he worked since his graduation from the University of Iowa with a bachelor of arts in business.
